Abbott L. Pattison

Abbott Pattison was born in Chicago in 1916. He studied art at Yale and also in France and Italy. He was a long-time instructor of sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was commissioned to do both private and public sculptures, including a bronze sculpture at the Lincoln Library in Springfield, IL.

His works have been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Whitney Museum of Art in New York, the Pennsylvania Academy, Philadelphia, PA, the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. His works can be found in the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Art, San Francisco, CA and the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint, MI, among others.
