Lambert Werner was both a musician and artist. He was born in Stockholm in 1900. Werner moved to Berlin in 1925, intending to become a doctor and a pianist. He became acquainted with Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee and instead decided to become an artist. His influences were Alexander Archipenko and Ossip Zadkine. In 1928, he moved to Paris, exhibiting at Galerie Mots et Image. He continued his study of art, traveling throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Werner died in Stockholm in 1983.
