Larry Scholder was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1942. He recived his M.A. from the University of Iowa and his B.F.A. from Carnegie Institute of Technology. Since 1968, Scholder was a Professor of Art in the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, University Park, TX, and taught print making. Scholder had 23 solo exhibitions of his work, including the Contemporary Art Museum in Houston and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. He participated in more than 100 group exhibitions. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, NY, the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Fort Worth, TX, the Houston Museum of Art, Houston, TX, the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX, among others. In 2017, Scholder died in Dallas, TX at the age of 74.
