Aaron Levy
American, 1899 - 1972
Aaron Levy was born in New York City in 1899. After retiring in 1951 from a career as president of
E. Milius & Company, a textile company, Levy began a new career as a fine artist. He exhibited with the notable “10th Street Galleries” in the East Village in New York in the 1950s and 60s. He was with the Camino Gallery, alongside such artists as Alice Neel and Elaine de Kooning. When Camono Gallery closed in 1963, he joined Phoenix Gallery on Madison Avenue. He also exhibited in East Hampton, NY. At the age of 73, Levy died in Manhattan in 1972.
