Edward T. Grigware

American, 1889 - 1960


Edward T. Grigware was born in Caseville, MI and spent his childhood in Spokane, WA. In 1911, Grigware was awarded a scholarship to the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He was active in the Chicago Palette and Chisel Club and became their president in 1928. He won numerous awards in his lifetime and was a well-regarded Chicago artist. He, along with artist Rudolph Ingerle, chaired a committee for the marketing agency Groh Associates, that selected 13 artists to paint scenes of the Century of Progress Exhibition for Westinghouse Corporation. Grigware died in Cody, WY in 1960.
