Frank Ransley was born in Troy, NY in 1887. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and worked as a Railway Postal Clerk in the Chicago area. He also ran an early silent movie theatre in Park Ridge, IL, where he lived with his wife Kennet, also a notable artist in the area. Ransley exhibited in the Chicago area. He died in Park Ridge, IL in 1959.
