Karl C. Brandner was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1898. He trained as an artist at the School of theArt Institute of Chicago and at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art. Brandner is recognized for his plein air Impressionist landscape paintings. His works were exhibited during his lifetime at the annual exhibitions of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Hoosier Salon, the Chicago Gallery Association, and the Palette and Chisel Club from which he won a Gold Medal in 1936. A snow scene by the artist hangs in the dining room of the Palette and Chisel Club. The artist died in 1961.
