Louis Philippe Grumieaux was born in Belgium in 1872. He immigrated to the United States, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1907. He is the father of artist Emile Grumieaux. Grumieaux was a lithographer and worked for the WPA though the Federal Art Project. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Society of Artists. Grumieaux died in 1953 at the age of 81.
