Richard Florsheim

American, 1916 - 1979


Richard Florsheim was born in Chicago to the wealthy Florsheim Shoe family. He studied at the University of Chicago and continued his studies in France, Italy. During WWII, Florsheim served in the U.S. Navy, where he worked a a cartographer. He exhibited at Milwaukee Art Institute and Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, WI. His works can be found in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1979, Florsheim died in Chicago at the age of 63.
