Robert King

American, 1915 - 2001


Robert King attended Ohio State University, graduating in 1939. He traveled to Europe for additional studies, receiving his Master of Fine Arts Degree in 1941. He became a professor of art at Ohio State University in 1945, retiring in 1978.

In 1950, King had his first major exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art. His most notable student was Roy Lictenstein.

At the age of 86, King died in Lima, Ohio.
